As the world’s most advanced 3D poker room, PKR is different than every other poker site out there. PKR was widely anticipated with both skepticism and enthusiasm before its official opening in 2006. The thought of a 3D poker room was exciting because it promised to bring more realism to the game but it was also risky because the 3D graphics included potential limitations.

3D Poker

But PKR didn’t stop there. They also included a sort of role-playing element that lets players customize their avatars and upgrade them over time. You can customize everything from your character’s facial structure down to the type of watch he wears. Over time, you’ll gain access to exclusive upgrades and poker chips that will make your character stand out above all the rest. It’s purely cosmetic but it really adds to the experience.

Bonuses

New players at PKR have a choice of one of four different sign up bonuses. Each bonus was designed for a specific type of player. Each bonus also requires you to earn a certain number of PKR Poker Points before it’s released. You can earn up to 150 PKR Points per hand so clearing these bonuses isn’t very difficult or overly time consuming.

1. $50 Flat Bonus – Use bonus code BEST50

Deposit $50 or more and you’ll get a $50 bonus. You’ll have to earn a total of 7,500 PKR Points to release this bonus.

2. 50% up to $250 – Use bonus code BEST250

Deposit $100 or more and you’ll get 50% added to your first deposit. This bonus requires you to earn 200 PKR Points per dollar in bonus money.

3. 100% up to $800 – Use bonus code BEST800

Just deposit $10 or more and you’ll get your first deposit at PKR doubled. You will have to earn 225 PKR Points per dollar in bonus money.

4. 100% up to $2,000 – Use bonus code BEST2000

Deposit $1,000 or more and you’ll get up to $2,000 added to your first deposit. This bonus requires 250 PKR Points per dollar in bonus money.

Tournaments

PKR has a nice lineup of tournaments that include big money guarantees, multi table tournaments, single table tournaments and a wide variety of deep stack, turbo, heads-up, six-seat, free rolls, double or nothings, triple or nothings, winner take all and more.

Every month they have a $100,000 guaranteed tournament where the first prize is never less than $25,000. In addition to that, the tournament is broadcast to over 100 million homes on PKR.TV with hole-cards revealed (not live, of course). You can buy in for $250 or win your entry in via satellite tournaments that start at just $1.

Speaking of satellite, PKR also has a wide range of satellite tournaments to major land-based events such as the WSOP, Asian Poker Tour and more. You can play in direct satellites that send you straight to the big tournament or in less expensive stage satellites in which you can win entry to the direct satellites.

Cash Games

Ring games are just as popular as the tournaments at PKR so you’ll find plenty of cash game action as well. Texas Holdem is still the most popular game but there are also quite a few Omaha and Omaha Hi-Lo tables at the low and medium stake levels.

The games start out with blinds as low as $0.01/$0.02 and go all the way up to $100/$200 with everything in between. The competition is pretty soft at PKR because hardcore multi-tablers still tend to avoid PKR. The end result is that you’ll find a lot of casual and recreational players just looking to have a good time.

Customer Service

PKR’s customer support team is courteous and helpful but you can only reach them via live chat and e-mail. The live chat option has always worked well but it’s not quite the same as actual phone support. Other than the lack of phone support, PKR’s customer service is solid and dependable.
